PE in the 1930s

Young men in the playground doing press ups

In January 2017, RSBC merged with the Royal London Society for Blind People (RLSB). Although we are now called RSBC, there may be some references to RLSB in the following article.

We love this photograph from the 1930s which shows three rows of young students undertaking a complicated side plank during a PE lesson.

With looks of concentration on their faces, the youngsters are supporting their weight almost totally on one arm. The 12 young men were at RLSB’s Swiss Cottage school in London.
